About Doris Motte, MACC, LCMHC

My Story

I discovered counseling in my 30s in the midst of a major life transition. I felt validated and empowered by my counselor’s empathy and acceptance, amazed by the difference an objective perspective made.

It kindled a desire to help others in the same way. I held on to that dream while raising my daughters, completing bachelors and masters degrees, working as a journalist.

Along the way, I found healing from past wounds and learned how to defeat anxiety and depression.

Today my passion is helping people like you find courage to grow into your dreams for happy marriages and fulfilling lives.

My commitment to you is to:

  • Listen non-judgmentally
  • Give new perspectives to consider
  • Help you learn to feel your feelings and clarify your thoughts
  • Honor your values
  • Speak the truth in love
  • Nurture your trust in God, yourself and others
  • Support, encourage and applaud your growth and change

Therapy is not an instant makeover. It is a process. It requires effort. Sometimes it’s uncomfortable.

And from experience, I can say—it is so worth it! Contact me today to book your appointment. My office is in Salisbury, North Carolina.
